MEETING BETWEEN LIVERPOOL CHIEF EXECUTIVE RICK PARRY AND THE BORUSSIA MOENCHENGLADBACH SUPPORTERS TO HAND OVER PETITION FOR A 30th ANNIVERSARY RE-MATCH TO CELEBRATE THE 1977 EUROPEAN CUP FINAL
The Borussia Moenchengladbach fan liason officer Thomas "Tower" Weinmann , Gladbach fan leader Jonny Polcher, Ronald Nuernberger - Liverpool fan from the German-Reds and Liverpool Official Supporters Club member supporter Graham Agg yesterday met Liverpool Chief Executive Mr Rick Parry to present Liverpool Football Club with a petition with over 4000 signatures for a re-match to be arranged in the form of a friendly match between Liverpool FC and Borussia Moenchengladbach.
The petition had names from all over the world, from as far afield as Hong kong, the United States, Australia, Japan and from all over Europe.
If you still have any petiton leaflets still to send, please send them to Mr Rick Parry at Liverpool Football Club.
The re-match is to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of one of the greatest European Cup finals of all time, namely the 1977 European Cup Final in Rome, which Liverpool won 3-1 against a very strong Gladbach team.
The meeting took place in the main stand before the Champions league match against Bordeaux. Mr Parry spoke for a few minutes with our friends from Germany and promised he would try to arrange a friendly match but that he couldn't at this stage promise anything.
Let us hope that this special friendship that exists between the two clubs continues, it has lasted 30 years already and le's hope it lasts for at least another 30 years.

Are they really. I'm in Bremen next week, I may just pop along........berti mac hat geschrieben:well, it looks like all the petitions and sucking up to Rick Parry could not persuade Liverpool to honour their 30th anniversary of the 1977 European Cup Final with a friendly match v Borussia.![]()
Maybe if it was against Borussia Malaga-gladbach there would be a chance![]()
