my wish list
my wish list
I've been thinking about the players leaving and the replacements(if money was no object).Obviously the kid from FC Basel,Granit Xhaka, is determined to join us,and that's nice to hear.I read that he was a defensive midfielder, well, that's not what I saw on the youtubes I looked at.It looks like we could have another young star on our hands.I would also like to get two Dortmund players Filipe Santana(for Dante) and Chris Loewe.I think Oskar Wendt can do a job in midfield as well as left back.Up front there are rumours here that Edin Dzeko is on the way out at Man.City as they make way for Llorentes.Any rumours in Moenchengladbach that aren't on German text or in "Kicker"?
Re: my wish list
Or,what about Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea via Hoffenheim. He's a star in the English Bankruptcy League.Manchester United are supposed to be looking very closely.Although they want 10 million for him, which Swansea can't afford.
Re: my wish list
Great news about our new signing What a difference a year makes. We've gone from "scurrying" around buying cast-offs and has-beens to buying Europa League winners!BRILLIANT! Congratulations herr Eberl.
Re: my wish list
I like the way they're keeping it quiet.
Only way imo to survive in this world of overpriced players with outrageously inflated salaries.

I hear it clearly, there is a british football fan talkingCormac hat geschrieben:survive in this world of overpriced players with outrageously inflated salaries.
Re: my wish list
I'm well used to beeing confused with the british, so I won't be insulted, discostu.
Seriously, this madness about money is present in any high flying league, I suppose. I very much like the german 50+1 rule, otherwise franchises like VW Wolfsburg or Schalksky already had taken over the Bundesliga.
Sorry, Godfrey, for temporarily hijacking this thread.
Back to the joy I feel about the Alvaro Dominguez signing.

Re: my wish list
Hey,no problem Cormac. As for your opinions on the finance of football clubs,I agree. Most of the Sky money that is keeping the game afloat in England is going out in salaries(and the English media think it's brilliant to have all this money). David Conn is always going on about it in the Guardian here.I read an article by him saying that behind the NFL, the Bankruptcy league is the richest but the Bundesliga is the most profitable.Says a lot I think.
Re: my wish list
Is Luuk de Jong really on his way to the Borussia Park as reported on Sport1 text? Heck what next,Nuri Sahin? Can't wait for the new season now.

Re: my wish list
I don't think so, OP. Newcastle is rumored having placed another higher bid than before.
Re: my wish list
Aye, Magpies improved their bid to €12m for de Jong and sent down a delegation for talks.

Re: my wish list
Newcastle have already seen one bid of €10million (£8million) for de Jong rejected by Twente and they have now reported to upped that to €12million (£10milion).
However, sources close to the deal have confirmed to Sky Sports that Twente are standing firm over de Jong and want in excess of €15million for the Dutch international striker.

Re: my wish list
15 million euro! That's just greed, like one Newcastle fan said 5 million is more realistic. How many strikers do the Geordies want anyway? If he doesn't want to come to Borussia then "sod" him! we want players like Xhaka who want to play for us.
Re: my wish list
Couldn't agree more.
Re: my wish list
Twente played in an Europa League quali last night and won by loads(6-0 the ast time I looked).Interesting thing to me was there was no De Jong name amongst the scorers.I wonder what that could mean

Re: my wish list
I'm sorry
Re: my wish list
Hey,it's not your fault.I still have this suspicion that something is going on that we don't know about.I've read(even over here) that Gladbach have sent a delegation to Holland, but that McClaren is the person trying to block it.Ask Cormac, he's still the most ridiculed man in British football.Known still as the "Wally with brolly".Wally is slang for an XXX!
Re: my wish list
Well, from 'Wally's' point of view it's quite understandable to keep de Jong in Enschede.
But as usual I think it's a money issue. If Borussia could fork out 13-14 million yoyos he'll be in MG in no time.
Next on the list could be Luc Castaignos of Inter.
But is he as good as de jong, I wonder?

Re: my wish list
The last I heard here was that the Borussia"delegation" were willing to stump up 10 million +Oscar Wendt?!
