For all their re-construction and the hotel behind one goal, how come no one thought about undersoil heating? The game was a lottery. And once again we deserved something from it.Bay bloody Leverkusen are now beginning to irritate me,ever since we beat them in the DFB Pokal semi-final, we've never seemed to have been able to give them what they deserve. All in all we can all be very satisfied with the hinrunde, though.Hope we get off to a flier against Bochum in the new year.Nadolig Llawen a Blywddyn Newydd Dda,that's Welsh for Frohe Weihnachten ein gutes Neue Jahr. :bmg:

You're absolutely right about the match and the reconstruction in Leverkusen!!!

Nice to meet a Welsh here in that forum!!!! I served for NATO from '98 to '01 and had a bloody good Welsh soldier within the IMP!!!!!!

Best regards

The stadium is not 100% finished because of the high costs. The heating wont be installed again as it is too expensive to run. Even in Dortmund the system has been cut of the list although they have much higher entry fees.

Thats the financial crisis.

Even Germany,eh?Never mind, at least clubs in the Bundesliga are not going out of business like could be happening as I write this in the English Bankruptcy League(a la Portsmouth FC).

I`m quite surprised to read this for I thought the dfl requires all bundesliga clubs to have undersoil heating...

No. In addition, a lot of Bundesliga clubs dont even have an own stadium and just rent it from the city or company (i.e. Fc Köln, Eintracht Frankfurt, 1. FC Nürnberg, Hertha BSC,...). So most of the clubs and so the DFL dont have much influence on the features or the design. Football stadium culture is not that big in Germany.

A must is the standard of lighting. The light even has to be switched on at day for broadcast matters.

sorry, but you are wrong:

3.10.3 Bodenheizung

Whhops. Rasenheizung mit Heizstrahler vertauscht.

We have undersoil heating and we have the best pitch in germany. BUT this is german quality mad for german conditions. Wont work if its siberian winter. Think it broke down. Bayer04 is in a bit of a dept right now, as the moderization of the stadium costed more than expected. :(

There was a report about the heating-system of the Borussia-Park this winter. If I remember it right, there is the problem that the heating tubes are 15 cm under the surface and above them only some soil and then roots of the gras. If the heating is too hot, the gras would die. So when it is very cold outside you can't melt the snow or ice because you can't increase the heat enough. The same should be in the BayArena.

Oh I see. Thanks.

So an undersoil is nearly useless in situations you could need it the most. :?

This all very un-German,chaps.You,as a nation, are known the world over for your efficiency and discipline and two of the main reasons that I've become so impressed over the years :bmg:

discostu,I wasn't trying to be smart.I have been impressed with your country ever since my first visit many years ago.I do love the way you do things. And I've travelled all over even into the east when it was the DDR.I just loved it,the trains, the coffee, the scenery, the people, the FOOTBALL.The only thng that puts me off is your language.I'm afraid it's too difficult for me.As for the football in what I call the "Sky Bankruptcy League",I don't have any interest except in the Welsh and German players in it. :bmg:
