Welcome back to the big league

Beitrag von Inselaffe-Borussia-Fan » 17.08.2008 21:33

I didn't see a great deal, plus the comms were in Spanish

But, we let in 3 soft goals (very poor keeping), and had quite a few chances which we didn't take.

From what I did see, we looked ok, but need to learn the lessons from today.

Welcome back Ins.I always thought we had a dodgy keeper even in the Zweite liga.I haven't seen any of it (can't watch when we lose)but I thought we might have got point.Do you and the others on this part of the forum think we'll be alright over the season?

Watched the highlights on Fohlen TV and if Heimeroth is a goalkeeper then so is my 10 year old niece. He couldn't keep warm!Said it last season and I've no reason to change my mind.Christian, mate you've got a fortnight to find a proper 'keeper.

We will! Stuttgart was too big for us, and other teams like Bremen, Schalke, Leverkusen and even Dortmund are bigger as well.
But I'm quite sure that there will be three teams below us at the end of the season ;)

I think we will. We have to learn from the Stuttgart match. Goalkeeping (awful) and finishing up front.

Thats possible! Instead of Eintracht I think Bochum is more endangered.

I don´t think we will buy a new keeper. Ziege and Luhukay said they trust Heimeroth.

On the one hand I think we should give Heimeroth a chance. It is his first season in the 1. Bundesliga and perhaps he is a little bit nervous.

But on the other hand its necessary to have a good and strong goalkeeper. I´m undecided if we have a goalkeeper problem or if we should have more patience with our number 1.

I think a good goalkeeper can get you as many points as a top class striker. And I don't think we've got a good one, never have thought much of Heimeroth.

hey hey, a little bit patience, please

It was just 1 game in which he made 1 or 2 mistake/s

We should give him 2 or 3 games more, if he makes mistakes there, too, then you can say he's not good enough for the Bundesliga... but not after 1 game

The trouble with that Steehaan,is Ziege only has 9 days to decide. And at the risk of repeating myself I've never thought he was good enough even last season. One other thing,do you think we should have gone for Vincent Kompany?

Some Borussia "fans" called Dietmar Hopp (the german Abramowitsch) son of a bitch.
I think 2 times they were singing "Dietmar Hopp you son of a bitch" (in german certainly).

I don´t have further information but it seems that Hopp complained about that and Borussia has to apologize to him.

Sorry for my bad english, but its early in the morning

i don't think i can quite understand why this anger to Hopp. He has been lucky/clever enough to make a big pile of money, and now he has spent it on his favourite football team.
He is certainly not an Abramovitch. You might not like his brand of software, but at least he did not "acquire" his wealth in anything like the circumstances that Abramovitch did.
And better that he spends his money on his local team, than spends it on some quicker easier route to the top by taking over a 1.Liga team

Perhaps from here, I don't get the "Hoffenheim-fairytale" rammed down my throat in the way that I think is going on in Germany (esp Baden) That would really annoy me certainly
Or perhaps I see a little of what dear ol' Uncle Jack Walker did at Blackburn Rovers in the 1990's in Hopps work at Hoffenheim.

But you can be sure that Hoffenheim have no future beyond their owner. In that way they are more like Gretna in Scotland. They had a meteoric rise, but when the owner became ill they faded away faster than ever and are no more. Their fans can look back on when they had a club in the English Northern premier League (about level 6 or 7) that at least survived
